The unsustainable growth of the plantation agricultural sector has caused numerous sustainability challenges including environmental, economic, social and governance concerns. Although a wide variety indicators have been developed to monitor assess issues for agriculture in general, few, if any specifically agriculture. In response this, we conducted systematic review literature order identify most commonly used or suggested critical development comprehensive unambiguous set We Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) method our review. Following screening large number articles identified through database searches, 40 were finally selected analysed this study. results analysis (i.e. indicators) organized according indicator framework by United Nations Commissions on Sustainable Development (UNCSD). A total 47 relevant assessing systems, along with potential their application identified. it was possible indicators, difficult conclusively universal different systems. conclude that although developing suite cover social, economic dimensions can add value plantations, there is need develop via bottom up participatory approach select are not only but be acceptable range stakeholder groups.
